There are moments in life when my heart finds comfort listening to someone share their story. This happened yesterday when I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Amy Hayes of Sweet Face Sugar Shoppe and Bakery.
This is the location where the Brighten Workshop will be held next month on March 26th. I was with my awesome friend Jemma enjoying a nice afternoon in Royse City. We were on a mission placing flyers around town and getting to know more about the location for this blog workshop.
This Bakery is a wonderful place, when you walk inside it just makes you want to smile and it smells so good. The founder Amy shared her passion behind this amazing business. She was a stay at home mom blessed with a son she called Sweet Face. At 13 months he passed away from cancer; to cope with the loss she started painting and this led to baking.
Sweet Face began 8 years ago out of grief in her home and she opened the Royse City Bakery in March 2015. She added “The plan I had for my life was different from God’s” She is such a delight and it was nice of her to take a moment and speak with us. For those attending the Brighten Workshop will be blessed..
It’s been awhile since the first time we announced the Brighten Workshop so let’s do a recap to get things fresh and current. Are you excited? Jemma and I are very excited and looking forward to spending the afternoon with you.

Introducing Old Sign Stencils
Our DIY make and make project will include a demonstration on how to stencil and each guest will have the opportunity to make their own sign using Old Sign Stencils. I taught a workshop similar to this last fall and it was such fun, view here.
Stenciling is a neat outlet and Old Sign Stencils are my favorite line because the quality is superior. From Gardening to Coffee or Lunch I’ll be sharing an assortment to work with. Stenciling is a fun skill and can also be a great way to earn additional income if you find it compliments your blog business.
Next week Jemma and I will be offering more details about what you can expect at the Brighten Workshop. You won’t want to miss this post because we’re taking you on a journey of wonderful.
