The Amaryllis Box

A few weeks back a friend mentioned adding Amaryllis bulbs to her Christmas Decorating.

I decided to do the same but I needed something festive for the bulbs because glass or ceramic just wasn’t grabbing my attention.

This led me to building a couple boxes using pine wood that were of course finished in beautiful shades of red.

After a few hours passed in the workshop the boxes were assembled with finished nails and I was pretty excited but thought they needed something a little more so I dug through my natural materials for pine cones, berries, leaves and ribbon.

Those little details were added with a hot glue gun.

When finished I discovered these boxes could also be used for gifts beyond an amaryllis.  A poinsettia or any homemade gift would look lovely in this box.

It appears my friends idea to plant amaryllis kicked off this season with this trendy Amaryllis box; it’s going to be fun sharing these with family and friends.

What a beautiful box. Amaryllis a so fun to grow inside where I live this time of year. Last year one of my friends gave me a white one in a blue pot. Just a little different and it was beautiful but I do love the red.

    1. I was thinking I might do one with a stain finish later, I have a lot of fun building. Blue pot with white I love that! I really need to get moving with Christmas – but I still have fall on the brain. Perhaps after Thanksgiving.
